What is the Cybersecurity Act (NIS2)?

NIS2 (Network and Information Security) is a European directive aimed at improving the digital and economic resilience of member states. In the Netherlands, it is implemented as the Cybersecurity Act, which replaces the current Network and Information Systems Security Act.

    Risk Management

Organizations must take appropriate technical and organizational measures to manage risks to the security of network and information systems.

    Incident Reporting

Significant incidents must be reported to the CSIRT within 24 hours. A detailed follow-up report is required within 72 hours.

    Compliance & Supervision

Organizations must be able to demonstrate compliance. Supervisory authorities can monitor, audit, and enforce the requirements.

    Management Responsibility

Management is directly responsible for NIS2 compliance. Directors can be held personally liable in cases of negligence.
